County Owned, County Governed. Chicot Memorial Hospital is a County-owned Hospital operated under the direction of a Board of Governors appointed by the County Judge. As a part of the County and pursuant to Internal Revenue Section 115, the hospital is exempt from Federal and State income taxes. The hospital provides inpatient, outpatient, emergency care and home health services primarily to residents of Chicot County and the surrounding area.
The Hospital is governed by a seven-member, voluntary Board of Governors, which represents a broad spectrum of professional, business, and community leaders. The Board of Governors determines hospital policy and provides direction and counsel on management, administration, planning, and development. Board members are responsible for hospital compliance with applicable legal requirements, the maintenance of professional and ethical standards of health services, sound financial management and operation of Chicot Memorial Hospital, and selection and appointment of a qualified medical staff.
